Mother & Child Care

In a vast and developing economy like India, there is critical shortage of highly educated health professionals. There are wide spread rural areas, where people continue to face poor access to basic healthcare essentials.

Current medical and nursing schools cannot train enough workers to keep up with increasing demand for healthcare services, nor can the need to provide healthcare facilities in far flunked areas be ignored.

A lot can be done to bridge the knowledge gap of the existing community workers; and to simultaneously create a new lot of community workers.

There are other few simple tasks/ jobs that can be assigned to trained community workers/allied staff in rural/ semi urban areas. One such area is Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

This section on OBG & Neonatal care focuses on such areas of Mother & Child Care.

The section on medical procedure caters to medical care and patient wellness, whether administering medicines or measuring vital signs, etc.

softskillsWhen it comes to Life Skills, the nursing field demands plenty. Compassion, empathy, communication, leadership, stress management, as well as detail-oriented skills, are needed to navigate a hospital or clinic’s complexities.

Core life skills are taught in nursing education programs, but new nurses need to expand upon those skills once they begin working with patients. Employers expect their nurses to possess those life skills and many healthcare establishments have realized that hiring nurses with good communication, leadership, problem-solving and stress management skills ultimately translates into a healthier bottom line.

safetyTo ensure a safe, quality environment for both patients and employees, hospitals must follow certain facility safety regulations, including emergency management, worker safety, fire protection, environmental regulations, and more. Facility and safety identification plays a significant role in meeting hospital accreditation standards, particularly:

            •   The control of hazardous energy and hazard communication.
            •    Permit-required confined spaces and walking-working surfaces.
            •    Emergency action plans.
